The 816 Bicycle Collective and the Greater Kansas City Bicycle Federation will be in the Crossroads Arts Districts providing free refreshments and free bicycle repairs. Car Free Challenge Starts
Today is the first day log your bike/walk/bus/carpool trips in the Car Free Challenge. See how many pounds of CO2 you and your team can keep out of our air, all while having a lot of fun and winning some great prizes.Bike Clinic, Valet Parking, and Bike Ride at Overland Park Farmers Market
Take a free class and learn how to carry groceries and other cargo on your bike. Enjoy free and secure bike parking while shopping at the farmers market. Bike Valet Parking available 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Class starts at 10:00 a.m.Immediately following the clinic, WOW (Women on Wheels) will be hosting a ride (approximately 11:00am). Heart of America Bridge Cleanup, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to help clean up the new bike/ped path on the HOA Bridge. Now that we finally have safe crossing over the Missouri River, we need to start keeping it free of glass and litter. BikeWalkKC is adopting the path and organizing this cleanup in conjunction with KCMO, NKC, MARC, and MoDOT. Sign up here to volunteer!

Families that ride together stay safe together. Learn bicycle safety skills with the Leawood Police Department. 3:00-7:30 p.m. Leawood City Park, near the basketball courts and trailhead. Shelters A & B. This fun event will have four stations to get your family bicycling this summer. The clinic will include a bicycle safety check, helmet fitting, riding skills challenge course and family riding lessons. All participants will have free refreshments provided by Whole Foods and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt. The Curriculum designed by Eric Bunch, a League of American Bicyclist Certified Instructor and Education Director for BikeWalkKC will take approximately 45 min and will be taught one instructor to each family. Join KCMO Bike Ped Coordinator on a leisurely family oriented ride on Indian Creek Trail from the Trailside Center (98th/Holmes) to Leawood City Park. (Distance approximately 3 miles one way). Ride leaves at 2:30 PM and returns to at your leisure. Parking at the Trailside Center is limited. However, ample parking is available at the strip mall on the Westside of Holmes.Friday Wine Ride, 5:30 p.m. at 1600 Genessee in the West Bottoms.
Join the localcycling crew at Amigoni Vineyards Tasting Room (behind the Livestock Exchange Bldg) 1600 for a fun cruise around the West Bottoms, with wine and picnic afterwards. The ride starts at 5:30PM and tours unusual and fun parts of the city. Nobody is dropped, leisurely pace. We return to the start (and outside tables) to sample great wines from the tasting room at 6:30PM and follow with a picnic. Bring a snack and buy a bottle.
